Got this tattoo done by my uncle Bill Rhine (Tattooed Rhino) at Wayne’s World in Hudson, NH. He currently tattoos in at Tattoo Angus in Manchester, NH.
I got this tattoo because the Nightmare before Christmas has been my favorite movie when I was younger and still is. However, when I was younger I seemed to always watch it with my grandfather….He passed away in 2008.. So this is a tribute/memorial tattoo for him because he did pass away and his name was also Jack! And I plan to get more work done on this piece eventually!
Right after it was done, still have to find a “not shiny” version. 13 1/2 hours of work, done over approximately 4 1/2 sessions. This was my first big tattoo, but the pain was only bad in the dead center of my chest where it is mostly bone. The song is “Young Folks” by Peter, Bjorn, and John, specifically the whistle at the beginning of the song. The birds have a whistle that sounds similar which is why I chose them. And the flowers and crab apple blossoms, the same as the tree I grew up with in my backyard.
